What does the invitation say, and can I change it?
A short invitation to your community goes out after someone has been commented on for a while. You can read the exact words first, and change them.

Open Settings, not Outreach
This is why most people can't find it. Everything else about outreach is under Outreach. The summary of what runs for you is under Settings, in the left-hand list, on the row called Outreach.

Settings, then the row called Outreach. Two menus deep, and not the Outreach menu.
See what runs on your behalf
The top of this screen lists everything being done for you, with a number against each. Profiles read a day, connection requests sent, how long we engage before inviting.

Every automatic action, with its own daily limit.
Read the invitation, then change it
The note is written once from your community description, the same for everyone except their first name, and under 185 characters. To change it, open Community, then Automated emails, and press the Connection note tab. Press Save note, or Write me a new one.

The note they receive, with a stand-in first name. You edit it under Community, then Automated emails.
Decide what happens after they accept
Underneath are three follow-ups: a welcome message, a gentle nudge if you hear nothing after seven days, and a welcome email linking into your community. Each reads Not decided until you turn it on.

Three follow-ups, each off until you turn it on.

Can I use Outreach on Instagram or X?
Not yet. Today Outreach works on LinkedIn only, through your own account. Instagram and X are coming soon, and nothing you set up now is wasted.
Do my new connections get a welcome email automatically?
Yes. If you use Outreach, every new connection gets a welcome email by itself, as soon as we have their email address. The LinkedIn welcome message is the one that waits for your go-ahead. One screen shows you both, in about two minutes.
How does Outreach turn strangers into community members?
Outreach finds people who have recently shown an interest in the problem you solve, gets your name in front of them on LinkedIn, and brings the ones who say yes into your community. Most of it runs by itself. Your part is a few minutes a day approving comments, and then making new members feel welcome.
